Facebook had added a mini newsfeed (screenshot) in the sidebar
that is always visible and thus you keep track of all your friends activity from any other page on Facebook. You can also like or comment on a story from the newsfeed itself.
Unlike the newsfeed on the Facebook homepage, the feed in the sidebar updates live as new stories are added and though you can’t pause the feed, you can always read the old stories in an infinite-scroll style.
Changes to Facebook Chat
If you aren’t a huge fan of the new chat window in Facebook, you can now adjust its height such that only your online friends are visible in the sidebar – see screenshot.
The mini newsfeed of Facebook is integrated with the chat sidebar and you can only hide it if you also hide the chat window.
